Ergonomics Abstracts Interface Re-Design

The search interface for Ergonomics Abstracts Online has recently been redesigned. The new interface is more user-friendly and intuitive, making it easier to search the citation-and-abstract database covering over 100,000 journal articles, conference papers, and book chapters.

Ergonomics Abstracts provides coverage of the international literature of ergonomics and human factors and includes related material in psychology, cognitive science, physiology, biomechanics, job design, human-computer interaction, safety science, human engineering, medicine, occupational health, sports science, and transportation studies.

Research subject areas include, but are not limited to, display and control design, general ergonomics, health and safety, human characteristics, information presentation/communication, the social and economic impact of systems, system characteristics, work design and organization, and workplace and equipment design.

Researchers in the fields of ergonomics, health and safety, human factors engineering, human computer interaction, design, systems analysis, industrial engineering, occupational psychology, and occupational and physical therapy will benefit from access to this database.

Please note that the database does not include embedded full text or links out to full text. After searching it, you can check to see if UB has online access to a journal article cited in the database by searching the UB Libraries' Electronic Journals database. To check for print, search UB's online catalog, BISON.

Engineering Information Day a Success!

Over a hundred UB engineering students and a half-dozen or so faculty stopped by the tables set up in the entrance to the Capen Libraries on October 3rd to talk about their research and have demo searches run for them in the databases we subscribe to on Ei's Engineering Village. The event was co-hosted by the UB Libraries and Elsevier, the company that produces Compendex as well as the Ei Engineering Village. Based on the day's success, we hope to make this an annual event.
